| The Burlington Hotel is ideally
situated in the heart of Folkestone, standing in its own
garden and adjacent to the famous Leas Promenade, which
has panoramic sea views across the English Channel. The
3-star hotel, which was built in the 1880's, has recently
been lovingly restored and refurbished by the owners with
exquisit attention to detail. The hotel facilities include
a restaurant with a beautiful rosewood floor and comfortable
bars and lounges, where we have two evenings of musical
entertainment. All bedrooms have been individually designed
and decorated with private bathroom, colour television,
telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, plus hairdyer
and trouser press, there is, of course, a lift to all
rooms. |

|
| We have some delightful excursions
in store for you. One of the highlights of the holiday
is a day excursion to France. We travel by coach and ferry,
and take beautiful scenic drive along the french coastline
with a relaxing stop for lunch. We shall also explore
the charming Kentish countryside and some of the prettiest
villages in Kent: the 'Darling Buds of May' villages with
oast houses, windmills, apple trees and beautiful old
timbered houses whose gardens are filled with old fashioned
scented flowers. We shall also be visiting a vineyard
with a chance to sample the wines, and taking in the fresh
sea air on a tour of the scenic White Cliffs coastline.
A light lunch is included daily at a variety of traditional
Kentish innes and tearooms: full of local character, charm
and history! |
