  Accomodation

The English Lake District, with it's natural lakes and fells, is undoubtedly one of the most outstandingly beautiful areas of Britain. Our hotel, the 3-star Cumbria Grand, is ideally positioned: set in twenty acres of gardens and woodlands that stretch down to the Edwardian promenade and sea at Grange-over-Sands with views across Morecombe Bay. The hotel boasts a baronial entrance hall with a restaurant that enjoys commanding views across the bay. There is a main lounge with dance floor and bar where the evening entertainment is held each night and also smaller quiet lounges for those who prefer to sit away from the entertainment. The bedrooms have recently been extensively and beautifully refurbished with private bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, colour television and direct dial telephones. There is a lift to all floors.

During your stay, we shall be making the most of the glorious natural scenery with daily excursions that include a drive through the magnificent, mountainous Kirkstone Pass, a relaxing summer boat cruise on the lakes, and a tour of Wordsworth's charming little Dove Cottage at Grasmere. As usual we shall be organising light lunches at a range of hand picked atmospheric inns and tea rooms.

When there is a free morning or afternoon, the coach will be on hand to take you down to the local Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands where you can enjoy a gentle stroll along the promenade or through the ornamental gardens. All excursions, entrance fees, and lunches are included in the cost of your holiday, including lunch on the last day on our journey home.
