The Salutation Hotel has been offering a warm welcome to guests, including Bonnie Prince Charlie, since 1699 and today offers all the comforts of an elegant three star hotel. The main rooms of this historic hotel are well furnished with a comfortable oak-panelled reception, a bar lounge and an excellent restaurant with an original barrel-vaulted ceiling and views across Perth. All bedrooms have a private bathroom, colour televisoin, telephone and tea and coffee making facilities and there is a lift to all floors. The hotel is ideally positioned in the heart of the historic city of Perth with its medieval buildings, churches and highly individual shops.

  Excursions

During the holiday we explore Perthshire: 'the most varied and most beautiful' county in Scotland. We enjoy relaxing drives through the scenic lochs and glens of the Lowlands and the natural beauty at the edge of the rugged Highlands. We browse through traditional Scottish towns and villages, enjoy light lunches at interesting venues. One day, lunch with stunning views overlooking the beautiful Loch Tay, another day looking out onto the beautiful heather gardens at Cherrybank. We also delve into the history of Scotland with a visit to Scone Palace, once the site where the Kings of Scotland were crowned on the fabled Stone of Destiny. We shall also take time to enjoy Perth itself and to enjoy a traditional nosing and tasting of whisky!

One of the evenings we join a traditional Scottish Ceilidh night with dancing and singing, and other evenings we organise quizzes and games at the hotel. The holiday is all inclusive with all excursions, entrance fees and lunches out at charismatic local inns and tearooms are included in the cost of the holiday including lunch on the last day on the journey home at a charming waterside tithe-barn pub.
