Let your imagination run wild on this short break to an authentic medieval castle! Ruthin Castle is today refurbished with all the comforts of the modern day, but its origins lie back in the twelfth century as a Welsh fortress. The facilities at this three star hotel are excellent with comfortable lounges, bars and restaurant yet the historic atmosphere is all around… the gothic style reception hall, antique furnishings, and medieval banqueting hall. Bedrooms have private bathrooms, colour television, tea & coffee making facilities and hairdryer and there is a lift to the bedrooms.

On Sunday, after arriving and settling in at the Ruthin Castle, we have time to look around Ruthin town itself. This little town has an interesting past and some lovely old buildings, and we will have a guide available to tell us some of its history.

The following morning after breakfast we set off for a day amidst the spectacular mountain scenery of Snowdonia. We have a light lunch out and arrive back in plenty of time to prepare for the night’s festivities. A truly memorable night: a splendid medieval banquet in the Banqueting Hall, goblets of wine, mead, harp music and the singing of the Ladies of the Court!

The final day, we have a leisurely breakfast and set off for a relaxed journey home, stopping for a pleasant lunch en route. As always, all the excursions, entrance fees and daily lunches are included in the cost of your holiday including lunch on the journey home.
