The Crown Hotel in Scarborough is part of an elegant
Regency terrace, which occupies a magnificent position
on the South Cliff. The hotel faces out to sea with
uninterupted views across Scarborough Bay, and immediately
in front of the hotel is the long Esplinade: perfect
for a gentle stroll to take in the fresh sea breezes.
The hotel is 3-star and attractively furnished with
good facilities, which include a reception lounge, two
bars and an excellent restaurant. There are also full
leisure facilities with a swimming pool, steam room,
aroma room, spa tub, sauna, and solarium. Bedrooms have
a private bathroom, colour television, direct dial telephone,
and tea and coffee making facilities and there is a
lift to alll floors. Although there is not a program
of organised evening entertainment at the hotel, Dragonfly
will organise some evenings of quizzes and games in
a private lounge.

We have some interesting days in store for you in Yorkshire's
beautiful coastline and countryside. On one of the days,
we follow the coastline road along the craggy, scenic
coastline up to the little fishing port of Whitby, setting
for the spine chilling story of 'Dracula'. We stop for
a relaxing lunch by the old fishing harbour and visit
the new centre at Whitby Abbey. We shall also be travelling
into the wilds of the Yorkshire Moors, stopping at the
little moorland village of 'Aidensfield' where Heartbeat'
is filmed. We also visit the fascinating Ryedale Folk
Museum in the charming village of Hutton-le-Hole where
we stop to browse the little shops and enjoy a home-cooked
lunch at the friendly Barn Hotel. There will also be
free time to relax, enjoy the hotel and its leisure
facilities, with the coach available to take you down
to the shopping centre and harbour.
On the final day we stop for a relaxing lunch on the
way home. As always, all excursions, entrance fees,
and lunches out at charismatic local inns, hotels and
tearooms are included in the cost of your holiday including
lunch on the last day on our journey home.
