  Accomodation

We travel to Ireland from Fishguard. The ferry takes just over 3 hours and we arrive in Waterford by early evening and travel the short distance to our hotel, arriving in time for our evening meal. The following morning, we have a relaxed breakfast and then set off for County Kerry and Killarney. First of all, we make a visit to the famous Waterford Crystal, and then stop again for lunch at a traditional Irish pub. We arrive in Killarney by early afternoon.

We are staying at the 3-star Killarney Towers Hotel in the heart of the colourful and traditional Irish town of Killarney. The hotel has excellent facilities including the Inisfallen Room restaurant, which serves breakfast and dinner, a comfortable residents' lounge, O'Donoghue's Pub with it olde-worlde Irish atmosphere, and also full leisure facilities including swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. All bedrooms have a colour television, telephone, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, and a private bathroom. There is a lift to all bedrooms.

  Excursions

County Kerry is probably the best-known county in Ireland: a region of outstanding natural beauty with its sandy bays, cliffs, rocky headlands and famous lakes of Killarney. The Ring of Kerry drive is considered to be the most scenic route in the whole of Europe and we include a tour that takes in spectacular scenery – mountains, peat bogs, lakes and magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean. Killorglin, famous for its Puck fair, Glenbeigh with its beautiful cliff road, Carhirciveen at the foot of the Bentee Mountain overlooking Valentia Harbour, Waterville – the sea town amidst the peat bogs, Sneem Village with its brightly coloured houses, Moll's Gap, Ladie's View.....

We shall also spend time in Killarney town itself, and also visit beautiful Muckross House with its stunning views overlooking the lakes of Killarney.

During our days, we include light lunches at a variety of interesting venues: a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea at Waterville, a colourful pub in the heart of Killarney... As usual, all excursions, entrance fees and light lunches are included in the cost of your holiday including lunch on the last day on your journey home. On the return journey we make a stop at the beautiful thatched cottage village of Adare for lunch. We then make the return journey to England on the catamaran. The crossing takes under two hours, so we arrive into Holyhead for 5.45pm and get back to Birmingham by 10pm.
