Weymouth is an attractive seaside town, with
a long flat seafront, attractive promenade, and
a beautiful sandy beach. The town has an old quarter
with narrow streets and little shops and there
is also the original 17th centuary harbour, bustling
with a myriad of craft, from fishing boats to
tall ships.
The Prince regent Hotel is well positioned on
the Esplinade at Weymouth facing directly out
to sea. It is an elegant, three-star Best Western
hotel with an attractive entrance foyer, comfortable
lounges and bars, and a pleasant restaurant. There
is also a ballroom where there will be two nights
of musical entertainment. Our bedrooms are most
attractively furnished and are all well equipped
with private bathroom, colour television, telephone
and tea and coffee making facilities. There is
a passenger lift to the rooms.

The coast and countryside in this area of Dorset
is breathtakingly beautiful with its rolling hills,
pretty unspoilt villages and glorious sea views,
and we have some lovely excursions planned for
the holiday. One of our visits will be to the
medieval thatched cottage village of Abbotsbury,
where we shall be visiting the historic swannery
famous for its mute swans, and having a relaxing
lunch at the beautiful Sub-Tropical Gardens. Another
day we shall be taking a scenic drive through
the delightful villages of Winterbourne Steepleton,
Winterbourne Martin and Winterbourne Monkton,
and visiting a pretty water garden with an ancient
wishing well.

There is also an old-fashioned weekly market in Weymouth
itself, so we shall have a free day when the coach will
be on hand to take you around the town as required.
As usual, all excursions, entrance fees and light lunches
out at charismatic local tearooms and inns are included
in the cost of your holiday including lunch on the last
day on our journey home.
